What do or can I do since the shaft broke off the machine for the number 3 needle?

Dear LouLou,
I need more of a description of where this shaft is. Are you talking about the black plastic piece that raises the red thread roller above needle number 3?
Or are you talking about the area right above needle 3 that holds the screw to remove the needle?
What happened to cause this shaft to break?
