  • False thread breaks on Amaya XT

    Hello,
The Amaya XT is stopping for false thread breake about 1 time on every logo, on various places and needles. When pressing the start button the machine runs only 2-3 stitches and stops again. After having turned the machine off and on again, it runs for a while and stops again. The bobbin thread detection is disabled, but did not make any difference.
Has anyone experienced the same problem?

The major cause of false thread breaks is in machine settings. Presserfoot height is critical. Should not be more 1 or 2 clicks up from the full down position....0 to 1 up on T's..

Really should be using '"Auto acti-feed"' and make sure the "auto lower limit" is at 1 to 2 in most cases. Of course this depends on the actual thickness of the garment...with thicker stuff then the limit gets a higher number.

Then there is the "Design" issue. Narrow column width is a ""major"" cause of false thread breakage. When a column at say 10 points wide is approximately .040" wide and a 75/11 needle is poking a hole at .075" in diameter ...the overlapping hole into the column is almost as big as the column is wide....draw a column out on a piece of paper and place needle penetrations on each side of the column, it should be instantly visible as to what might be happening....the columns need to be wider and speed reduced in a lot of cases to get through a project.

Or, it could be a combination of all or part of the above......and then there is the machine lubrication issue, etc, etc....

      Thanks for quick answer.
There are 2 more machines running on the same logo, on the same garments, and all the settings are the same, without any problems.

        What are your settings??

How long since the hook timing and X axis cable tension have been checked/adjusted?

How about threadfeed roller condition, are there starting to be grooves in them from wear which would allow slippage?,

        Bobbin tension?

          All theese things are checked.
Have to turn off the machine perhaps several times to make it continue on the design.
Have mention the problem to a Melco technician here, but he has no suggestions to solve this.
