  • Additional decorating services

What other types of apparel decorating services do you all offer? Screen printing, DTG, sublimation etc. And why did you pick that style or brand? I'm looking to expand again so I'm starting my research! Thanks to any advice!

I do vinyl cutting and heat press. I do tons of hats with heat pressed vinyl. You can also do sublimation if you already have the heat press. Printers are fairly cheap (ink is expensive), paper is cheap. If you have a vinyl cutter, you can make rhinestone templates.

I bought a color laser printer and print on special paper to do full color heat pressed designs.

Actually I now hate embroidery and love doing heat press. Make a lot more $$ with it too.

What kind of color printer did you get? And what kind of software did you have to learn to use?!

One of the neatest things I have been doing is cutting material backed with permanent heat press adhesive. I cut the word Aloha and it will iron on a shirt. Vert cool.

I only sell to customers who come to me. Word of mouth works surprisingly well here in Kona. I have groups of customers that are all related. I am a terrible salesman! Really terrible - except when they come to me, then I can wax on forever!

            Juli,
I have friends in Hawaii right now, they will be in Kona on Wednesday, I'd like to arrange for them to pick up.a couple of samples from you. We talked before about your laser wood cuts, i'd like a couple of those, Hawaiian Hook? Whale's Tail?
She'll cover the cost for me....
            Excited to see them...

In addition to embroidery, I offer DTG, vinyl cutting (both garment & sign), rotary engraving, dye sublimation (get transfers), screenprinting (transfers) and my newest addition, laser cutting/engraving. Absolutely love my laser. It has so much potential.

What kind of DTG do you have? I offer embroidery and screen print transfers right now. but I'm trying to find a way to offer full color logos that aren't super expensive with really high minimums.

Do you have to stitch it down also?

I presume you are asking about the laser cut Aloha. No, no sewing! I am using permanent heat pressed adhesive.

I own an older Anajet. I don't use white ink- just not worth the hassle. I mainly use it spring and summer. You can do full color with transfers (I use F&M Expressions for my dark shirts). You might consider dye sub transfers (I use S&K Manufacturing) but that only works on white/light colored polyester (you can put black on a red but not red on black). Just some options.

I love the cutout in the picture.
I'm not sure I understand what type of material you are using. Is it patterned vinyl? Is it a fabric material that comes with vinyl adhesive on the back or are you adding adhesive to the back of the material. Sorry if I'm missing the obvious!

I can use just about any material- cotton, poly, blends, but not nylon. The material in the picture is 100% cotton and it is a wild jungle print. I use the permanent heat press adhesive from Twill USA. I heat press it on the back of the material first, then laser cut. This adh is kind of heavy so it might not work to use it with very thin materials or garments. I'd be happy to send anyone some samples. Private message me.
