I am learning to sew caps with this cap frame on a Big Red. I have it installed on the machine and have sewn several caps. The cap frame is solid going left to right, but when everything is off, you can move the frame very slightly from front to back. I have all screws tight.

I want to make sure that I do have the cap frame installed correctly. It is hard to describe without seeing pictures. Is the driver bar supposed to run in the channel of the driver cylinder? Currently the front piece of the driver bar is in front of the metal channel bracket on the driver cylinder and the red center line of the driver bar covers the red center line of the driver cylinder.

I keep trying to find a photo that shows from the side how the two fit together.

    Can anyone help?

Hi. Yes, the driver bar does go into that channel. Loosen the big thumb screws about two turns, and slide it all of the way to the back, then tighten those big 'ol thumbscrews. The metal piece at the top of the thumbscrews will go into the channel, and the thumbscrews put pressure on it to clamp it into place.
