trimmer knife

My trimmer needed maintence~got all the thread out...took off the metal clip cover, the blade cover and the trimmer knife blade...blade flew out of cover and can't remember which side of the knife blade was where? When you are looking at the machine is the longer side of the knife blade on the left or right below the cover? Need some help please!

The "blade cover" as you refer to it, has two small slots on one side of it. The knife blade also has two small tabs, one being a bit larger than the other, on one side of the blade. The knife goes into the blade carrier so that the tabs fit into their respective slots. They can only fit one way correctly.

HI Guys,

I'm have trouble with my trimmer. It will not trim any thread there for I keep having thread breaks. I replaced the knifes on both machines and still have trouble.
Please help.

I figured it out. I didn't put the little hook i the hole on the blades.....
Learn something new everyday.
