z axis timeout error

i chose the wrong hoop size and started a design. the needle holder hit the hoop, stopped and i cannot get the needle to come back up. I turned the machine off with the emergency stop, turned it back on and tried the Head Up under head timing. it tries to go up but makes a knocking sound and stays down. Any suggestions:
