  • NEEDLEHEAD SCREW WON'T BUDGE

Two brand new Amaya XT's . . . out of the box.

Went to change needles and one machine was no problem. Every needle screw in the other machine seemed over-tight and difficult to unscrew. Needle #4 is really stuck and I can't get the screwdriver to grab it. Tried a longer-handled driver without luck. Any advice? I'd hate to have tech support come out just to drill the screw out but that may be the only answer at this point. You think Amaya would send out real screwdrivers for their machines...

I would suggest heading to home depot for a husky 7 in 1 mini screwdriver.
It has one bit in the tip and about 6 bits in the cap. I use it all the
time and is better than what gets sent out. Basically, you just need
something you can get a little more torque on (with a bigger grip) than the
tiny toy screwdriver they send out.

Tried the Husky 7-in-1 without luck. Thank you for that anyway. Had my husband try too thinking a stronger grip might do the trick. Looks like the screw head itself is defective in that the channel seems too shallow for the screwdriver to get a grip. Called tech support and hopefully they'll schedule someone soon to repair. Frustrating . . . very frustrating . . .
