  • Golf/Polo Shirts

What is the difference,if any, between polo shirts and golf shirts? Does anyone have a favorite really nice golf/polo shirt your customers have been pleased with? I have a client wanting really nice shirts to give his clients with his own logo on the left sleeve. What is your opinion/s of bamboo shirts? Any ideas you can give me will be appreciated. I normally get most everything fror San Mar because of overnight service.

I was told years ago that a true golf shirt has the pocket on the right side, instead of the left like a polo shirt...so that if you had something in the pocket, it won't affect your golf swing!
But I've never had anyone order a shirt with the right hand pocket...so all I know is in the catalogs the polos seem to be all solid colors, golf shirts have stripes and contrast trims...and gawd awful shorts underneath on hairy legs....LOL...

Well Roland, I am not into hairy legs but probably will go with no pocket. The Tiger Woods and Nike Golf shirts in Sanmar look like they have no pocket. My customer did not specify a color either but I doubt he wants any kind of print on the shirt. I am looking at solid colors. Thanks for your response.

The Port Authority SilkTouch shirts are real nice, got some for my wife to try out. Doublecheck anything you pick out (like the Nike line) to make sure Sanmar isn't discontinuing them...you want to be able to reorder next year or so and they have been sending out 'discontinued' lists every week.
New Ogio line has some good colors...

If it's for golfing, the "dry wicking" fabrics are the shirts of choice...in most cases.
Bodek & Rhodes, Sanmar, Blue Generation, etc. will all have a nice selection colors, styles, men, women and price pints.

Staton and Broder/Alpha have warehouses in Texas also. Although, I personally try not to use Broder due to many previous issues with them.

We have used Colorado Timberline. Our customers have been thrilled with them. Very high quality, low maintenance, moisture wicking. Embroidery great.
