  • Table Cloth

Had a pretty funny thing happen the other day with a table cloth order. Customer wanted a table cloth for a display table 1 color vinyl on three sides.Customer gives me the dimensions 28x86 inches I thought that is a odd size table but he looks at his notes and says that is correct. Place order from Creative Banner , recieved table cloth and thought it would be better if I had the table to make sure everything is laid out correctly. Ask if I can take it with me ,"sure lets go get it". Go into the conference room and the only table there is WAY to small "Well this one isn't it the dimensions are way off the table is much larger". So he calls one of his employee's and asks where the table is , he says "It is in the conference room". So long story short he asks him how he measured the table he says "it is 86" around the table and 28" tall". DOH! I told him don't worry about it we will get something to work.

    Hey KNC:

Does creative do cloths anymore? They don't list them on their website now - and we had ordered them from the website in the past.

YEs they do offer them, several pages in their catalog! I order almost every month...and that is where I got the bulk order on the Amaya 'jammies' we had a couple years back. They will make up anything you want. BUT they have a real problem sometimes understanding instructions so include a well labeled diagram of what you want.
Don't know why none of them are on the website-I never use that. Easier to just pick up the phone.
Also, you can split the seam on a mismade throw and cut it to shape, resew with a household machine. Did that several times-let the 'customer' measure her own table and a 'standard' card table according to her was 2' square and 4' square for a big one...they were both 3' square. Turned the excess material off an unused 8' banner into matching banners and they bought them!
So nothing went to waste and now I have banners made up by Creative to match tablecovers and get an extra sale out of it. Can't beat a machine washable banner!

Off the top of my head about $47 for the 6' 'drape' 4 sided cover, which WILL also fit 8' tables with no problem. 8' cover won't fit 6'...hangs too low.
Going rate through Ad Specialty Suppliers (retail) is anywhere from $125 to $250 for ONE tablecover, PLUS setup charges of $80-$200 per color!
I don't charge any setup, and average heat seal image is 8" x 42" give or take. I do one color or digital print multi color and do quite a few a year.
Trick is setting up a big enough jig to line up your logos to get them in the right place. Screw it up-and you just threw out the cover-you cannot peel it off and redo it.

I've been making tote bags from old vinyl banners. they are quick and trendy. Would it be possible to repurpose your "goofs"?
