  • Start & stop symbols not showing

I have Design Shop Pro Plus V9. Occasionally the start and stop symbols don't show for individual elements. I want to change them but they just aren't there. Shut down and restarted but that did not help. When I click on the 1st object nothing shows up. When I click on subsequent objects the only thing I can see relating to start/stop is where the previous object stopped stitching. Can anyone tell me how to get these to show again.

It doesn't happen very often but when it does it can be terribly aggravating.

I'm unclear about your question. I thought maybe you were inquiring about the object entry/exit points, but then you indicated that you could see "where the previous object stopped stitching." This sounds like OS not DS, hence my confusion. Can you try again or maybe someone brighter than I am understands and can help.

I think he means that he can see that "white cross" thing in DS that shows where your last stitch was on the previous element, but he can't see the X and the O for the starting and stopping stitch. Am I correct?

Try zooming way out. Sometimes, especially when auto digitizing and then resizing, the start and stop, x and o, are way out there.

MJ, Everything Embroidered is correct. The white X is there but the green circle and red x aren't. Juli, I tried zooming out but they still aren't there. I shut down again last night and tried again this morning. The last 3 designs I digitized last night still do not show the symbols but the new design I digitized this morning has the symbols so it appears that DS is back to normal for digitizing new designs. I don't know what fixed it other than possibly shutting down a second time.

I don't remember any way to turn on/off the symbols so I still can't figure out why I can't see them in only the 3 designs from last night. I have looked again all through the settings, options, etc. and did not find any kind of control for those symbols. The only thing I know to do for the 3 designs is to just start over with digitizing the artwork and hope the same thing does not happen again.

Does anyone know of a way to control the visibility of those symbols that I am just missing? I have had this happen occasionally over the years and have yet to get to the bottom of the problem.

My thanks to all who responded already with suggestions.

Would you be willing to send one of the files that is giving you trouble.
So I can see if they are there in another DS.

I have had this happen before. On the digitizing box on the left of the screen is a box with the "o" and "x". You can click on it and they should show on your design and then you can move them to where you want them. Hope this helps.

Yes, I can send a file. I already deleted the bad files from night before last but I just created another that has one object (#155 complex fill) that does not show the green o and red x. All the others in this same file do show them.

I will contact you by private email for the email address to send the file.

Thanks for looking at it for me. This is really odd. I never know when it is going to happen.

Weird, I don't have a box with the o and x. I wonder if I have that turned off somewhere and just don't know it.
