  • Thread Breaks and False Bobbin Breaks on Knit

    Hi All,
We are new embroiders. We have an XTS.
The issue we are having is with Block 2 Font.
Yesterday I was working on a Thin Polo with small text on both sides of the chest. I got the Left side to stitch fine. Went to test what needs to go on the right side on some thin knit scrap and we can't get it to sew out.
We keep getting fraying and snapped thread and False Bobbin Breaks.
Again this is mostly on Block 2 ran a test with some other fonts no luck.
    .320 Height.
    No underlay.
    Short Stitches off.
    Auto-Density.
    Pull Comp 115.
    Minimum Column Width 12.
    Acti-feed is at 4
I have played with these settings nothing seems to help.
Needle has been checked for Damage also checked the angle.
    Bobbin tension is good.
I am using a Lightweight Cut away backing have played with trying a single and double layer.
The Presser foot is at a good height. I have checked that a few times along the way.
Here is the kicker.... It sews out fine on broadcloth.
Am I messing some settings for knits?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Sophia

I always use a fusible mesh stabilizer on anything knit. Is your shirt hooped tight? Wondering why you don't have any underlay? I usually use auto underlay so at least you have a center line underlay to hold the fabric better -- those are pretty small letters. Also I would use Auto Actifeed. Are you using a small ballpoint needle? But the experts might have more or different things to say.
    Thanks!<br />MJ, Everything Embroidered
