  • Font Getting Squashed

Hi! I'm working on some Richardson hats and I'm having a problem with the top arc of the font. Sadly I know I'm pushing the size of the graphic, but the customer is very adamant on the size. Anyway, as you can see from the picture the "C" is getting squished down, and the entire top line isn't lining up properly. Any recommendations? Thanks!20151108_105020.jpg

    use another hat.
lower the design on the present hat.
reduce the size of the design.
these are the options I would go with.

stitching on the curve of the hat is going to make the distortion
    otherwise
make sure your using a center walk underlay.
and try two layers of cap backing
If you have a hat press try pressing the seam and the stitch field flat prior to hooping.
Though I don't think it will work.
in this case. It is worth a try.

Just looking at the center seam of the cap above the letter, you can see that the sewing arm is forcing the seam open which simply means that the design is either too tall or not being sewn close enough to the bill seam or a combination of both. The dis torion of the lettering confirms this also.....you have to do like Jerome says...he is right on

Thanks, guys. I'll bump the size down and get it closer to the bill. I'm still learning, and I'm glad everybody's here to help us newbies along. You guys are awesome!
