    Thread storage/Dry thread issues

What have any of you done about dry thread issues? I'm having issues. Ordered a humidifier. How do you store your thread?

I store my cones in a 3 drawer plastic container and my spools in 24 plastic shoe boxes numbered. The shoe boxes are transparent. Had most of this thread for 7 years and never had a problem. Light and air are not good so I was told.
