  • Stretchy sports/active wear

I would like to know what type of backing is best when embroidering on the thin, stretchy tops such as the Fila brand active wear. I am finding that once the shirt is hooped it tends to buckle. I have tried several cut away backings including Madeira's special light weight backing for active wear. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

For items such as this (including 100% poly shirts), I use a piece of tear away backing on the front of the shirt with the center cut out to allow for the embroidery. It helps keep the fabric stable in the hoop. Hope this helps

I love using Gunold Action back it's just for this application a bit pricey but works well

Use the Weblon with a very light hit of adhesive spray. Hoop it really loose and once it is hooped, hand tighten the hoop.
