  • Font distortion on hats

Is there a simple answer for why my fonts are so often distorted when they're just above a hat bill? When I run certain designs that have a long line of text at the very bottom, the line ends up shaped like a convex lens: shorter in the center than on the ends. It's most noticeable, obviously, when I'm sewing all caps. Is it because of the ever-troublesome center seam? I'm using Design Shop Pro+; should I adjust pull compensation for these kinds of designs? If so, what kind of adjustment?

    Thanks!

When I tried that, I found that if the letters are just about the bill of the cap, the bill is hitting on the back of the needle area, moving it. Not good! It has to be higher up than we want it to be.
