The LED bar on one of my XT's has blown out. Is this a relatively easy fix or do I need a tech? No other problems that I think might be connected with this.

I think you are talking about the LED on the user interface... I never pay attention to it anyway (well, rarely)- if I need info from the machine to tell me what is wrong, I refer to the OS info on the screen of the computer. I think the fix would be relatively simple- replace the PCB board in there- and I'm pretty sure it won't be cheap; so, unless you rely on that little light a good bit, I would just let it go.Gregory

No, Gregory, I'm talking the about the LED lights that shine down on either side of the hoop while sewing. Each side has a bar of two rows of LEDs.Visit and LIKE http://www.facebook.com/onewaypromotionalproducts
You never know what we have going on at Oneway!

Sarah,
The LED lights are simple to replace.
It will require that you remove the black cover so be sure you are on needle #1 or #16, depending on which bank of lights you want to remove.
I would suggest turning the machine off when you are ready to replace them. All you have is 2 screwshold the led pcb to the machine, then disconnect the harness from the bad light assy and plug it into to the new one. when replacing the light assy be sure the lights are angled in toward the center.
RE-INSTALL THE BLACK COVER BEFORE STARTING THE MACHINE.
No ,I'm yelling.Just trying to point out how inportant it is not to forget the last step or you will have alot more problems than a set of "headlights" out on your machine.

My three XTs needed LED replacements. I got new ones from Melco at $50 each (OUCH!) and made the easy-to-perform replacement. Now I have six burned out boards that look like it would be fairly easy to remove and replace the bad LEDs with new ones. Does any one know where to obtain them and what style and type to buy? I forgot to stick a meter on the cables while they were disconnected but it should be relatively easy to get the supplied voltage. Any help will be appreciated.Jimmie Jones
TJ\'s Designs
319 Howard Ave.
Vallejo CA 94589
