shutting down xts

Hi I wanted to know if it is ok to turn off my xts' s by just turning off my surge/battery pack? Its kind of a pain reaching behind each machine to shut them off.

I have my machine ans a bright light plugged into an extension strip with an on/off switch. When I flip that switch on, both the machine and light turn on.

Thanks Juli. Just want to make sure that it was ok to do. Reaching behind these machines is beginning to be a chore especially since I moved them around and one is in a corner now...
