OT - Help with visiting NYC

I know this has nothing to do with embroidery but I'm getting desperate. If you can give me tips to navigate visiting NYC for one day in early Oct, please email me at [email protected]. I know I don't want to drive in the city but then I don't know the best way to get to the ports (I think we're just going to take a harbor tour and maybe try to get to Brooklyn for pizza).
