  • Amaya xts grabber bar

Now up to my 4th xts within a year and no major issues. Can someone please let me know what the notches in the grabber bar are used for beyond being a pita when threading needles?

Anyone know what the notches in bar are for?

      I am with you
they seem to be there just to be in the way.

Actually they provide protection for the needles when the bar is back.
and the reason the bar is notched is they felt, we needed more access to the needles when changing them.
I have actually taken a slip from a report cover and keep it on mine.
it is easy to remove and keeps stuff from constantly catching on them.

It doesn't seem like the front notches need to be there at all. The back of bar pulls thread against cutter and stores thread. The needle will not come down with bar moved back. Anyone from melco please shed some light on this. I am getting ready to make a replacement that is more user friendly.

Brilliant, Jerome! I'm going to do this - I'm tired of my thread catching on the notches.
