  • trimming troubles

Many times when trimming, the thread ends up about 6 inches shorter than it should be. That means it is out of the needle and out of the 2 holes above that. WHY does this happen, AND how can I fix it? Extremely time consuming and very frustrating.

When my machines do this, my bobbin tension is a bit too tight. It stops if I ease the tension back a bit. Just a thought.

Have you watched this happen? It sounds as though the thread may not actually have been cut; when the machine moves to the next area, the thread pulls very tight then snaps. This often happens with the metallic thread we use.

Mama Kass, This is definitely NOT a problem with it not cutting. It actually cuts very cleanly (for a change!). But the whole trimming sequence SOUNDS different. So, what I think is that the sequence is messed up. But I am going to try loosening the bobbin tension a bit and see if that corrects the problem.
