  • Hat Stitch Out

Okay, so here's my problem. I'm using the EMT16. Im Doing hats. I stitched out the design on a test hat and the design looked okay (it's the all black hat) The hat is cheep and was easy for me to hoop. It was tight to the frame. I then did it on the client's snapback and had horrible results. I adjusted our tension (3min - 7max).

IMG_0344.jpgIMG_0345.jpg, however it still stitches poorly. Any suggestions?

Is the white on the hat bobbin thread pulling through? You should have min acti feed around 6-7 for structured hats. Slow the speed down to around 800. Use sharp pd needles. Work the hat down when hooping.
Check out HW Graphics on Facebook for a hat hooping video.

Some structured hats don't lay down well. I have used a heat gun for a few seconds and then work down with my hand.

No need to set a max. If the thread sensors needs more thread then let the machine provide it
